Should I Have Two Wedding Photographers?

February 8, 2022

Should I Have Two Wedding Photographers?

I get asked this question all the time:

"What is the benefit of having

two photographers at my wedding?"

There are several reasons to have two photographers at your wedding.

1.) During the getting ready photos typically one photographer will stay with the bride and the other photographer will stay with the groom.

2.) During a first look one photographer will capture the grooms reaction and one photographer will capture the bride walking towards him. (Same with the ceremony!)

3.) You will get a second perspective for all of the main events of your wedding!

4.) Sometimes the head photographer will have the second photographer shoot with a different lens (telephoto as opposed to a wide angle) so you have two different perspectives that way as well!

5.) There will be extra moments that each photographer finds and captures that the other one may not see.

6.) The second photographer will help the lead photographer capture different shots by helping out! (I like to do an outdoor photo lite with lights that my second usually helps me set up! Its posted below!)

At the end of the day this is your wedding and it is definitely not required to have two photographer but there definitely are some benefits! I personally have a package that includes one and a few that do not! Do what works best for you!
